"So... What's the Baby's Name?"

We hear that phrase all the time: "What's the baby's name?"

Well... wouldn't you like to know?!?! :o) LET THE GAMES BEGIN!

For those of you that may not remember, when I was pregnant with Hank, we played a clue guessing game for his name (I think if you go through our Blog Archives, you can find them still in June 2008).

Anyhow, first let me give a little description... Hank Aaron Labrum, obviously was named after Henry Louis Aaron - also known as Hank Aaron. Our next son will be named also after someone famous, but it is a little bit trickier.

The famous person's LAST name will NOT be the baby's middle name.

Our son will have this person's FIRST name, and this person's MIDDLE name... (so the famous LAST name will not be involved). Let me just say that this is what has taken us Soooo long to start the clues. We were set on the first name, but we were not sure if the baby's middle name would come from the famous middle or last name.

CLUE #1: OHIO

Grandpa "Bob" Labrum - A Great Man

Last week we headed up North to Salt Lake City, UT for Tyler's grandpa's funeral. We were actually pretty shocked to hear this sad news as it seemed so unexpected.

Grandpa was here in Phoenix just last October (2009) and was enjoying time playing with his great grandson Hank. We LOVED having him here... he was such a loving and caring man. As we headed to Salt Lake, we later found out that Tyler would be a pall bearer and help carry his grandpa's casket.

I asked Tyler what some of his fondest memories were of his grandpa, and he told me that he loved hunting with him, picking raspberries with him, and eating grandpa's home made peanut brittle. Grandpa told us when he came down in October that he wanted us to know that 4 years ago when we had picked him up at the airport, that he would never forget the love that Tyler and I showed... he had never been given a bouquet of flowers before, and he said it really touched him. You could really tell that he loved his family, and the smile he would give said it all.

What a blessing to have known such a sweet man, you will be missed Grandpa!

A Fast Pregnancy

Hank sure is keeping me busy, and I am soon retiring from my position with the Utilities Department at the Town so that I can stay home with my kids, my last working day will be June 10th... and then I work my butt off at home. :o) I just can't believe how time is passing. And I only have 3 months left until our new baby boy will be here!!! :o) Currently I am 26+ weeks

Wow - So Much to Post - So Little Time!!

We have sooo much to share! I'm a bit behind and so much has happened!!

Mother's day weekend started off with a visit with friends from our Bible study to go to the Phoenix Zoo. Hank and I (Lindsey) were super excited. We had a great time watching the animals and we hung out for a good while at the splash pad.
After playing in the water for a bit, I sat Hank down to eat some lunch. He gobbled it down as fast as he could so that he could go back and play. When I tried to get his shoes on he threw a fit. I took him aside and told him that if he was going to act like that and continue to have an attitude that we were going to go home. I walked him back over to put his shoes on so he could run to play in the water and he persisted. I decided it was time to go home. He decided to put on a pretty good show with his tantrum, I call it "horrific."

I was so embarrassed. I strapped him into his stroller and we left the park. It was really tough having all of those people watch me as I left in tears. I was glad that the ladies I was with understood what I was going through. It's great to have support of friends.

Tyler made my Mother's day weekend great however... breakfast in bed and Hank ready for church. It rocked! ...and the tantrum was just a bad memory. :o)
